3 Ways To Sharpen Your Spiritual Discernment

Growth in spiritual discernment is NOT automatic.

Increasing in discernment is a process.
For believers discernment is NOT optional, it's required.

Discernment protects us.
Discernment provides for us.
Discernment prepares us.
We're going to talk specifics on sharpening your spiritual discernment.

3 Ways to sharpen your discernment.

#1 Pray in the Spirit

Praying in the Holy Spirit is aligned with prayers to God.

It's a 'surrendered prayer' to God.

Praying a THY will not my will prayer.
20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (Jude 1:20)

26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27)

#2 Meditate on God's word day and night

Now we are talking about biblical meditation.

The enemy can twist anything with scripture.

Is there meditation that is demonic? Yes.
But also meditation is biblical.
To meditate biblically means too:
to moan, growl, utter, muse, mutter, meditate, devise, plot, speak
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night. (Psalm 1:2)

8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

Meditate on God's word daily.

#3 Fasting that pleases God

A fast that pleases God.

If you want to learn how to fast you can check out our Soul Fast.

We can think we're fasting but is this REALLY pleasing the Lord?

We want to make sure we're fasting correcting & giving up the flesh & wordly to seek the Lord.
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen,
A day for a man to afflict his soul?
Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush,
And to spread out sackcloth and ashes?
Would you call this a fast,
And an acceptable day to the Lord?
6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’ (Isaiah 58:6-9)

God bless you
