5 Reasons God Allows Trials

Your trials will always reveal to you if you’re trusting God or not.

Faith doesn’t always make sense… it makes miracles.

If they’re not loyal to God… how can they be loyal to you?

13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. (James 1:13-15)

God does not tempt us, but He may test us.

The Lord allows us to go through wilderness to humble, test & know what’s in our heart.

Wilderness delivers Egypt out of us.

1 “Every commandment which I command you today you must be careful to observe, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers. 2 And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. 3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which yo u did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. 4 Your garments did not wear out on you, nor did your foot swell these forty years. 5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the Lord your God chastens you. (Deuteronomy 8:1-5)

The word of God is a book of promises, precepts, principles, prophecies…

#1 Test our love for Him

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

God loves us so much He will never leave us the same way He found us.

It's one to say you 'love God' it's another to live a life that represents God's love.

Being a living sacrifice for God will always test our love for Him.

#2 Test our obedience

22 So Samuel said: “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22)

99% obedience is still still disobedience.

God wants us to be fully surrendered to Him.

Walking in obedience to God is the best plan!

#3 Test our faith

17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17)

Our faith increases by hearing God's word & without faith its impossible to please Him.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

We are called to walk by faith.

Moving in God's will is an act of faith as believers.

Faith might not always make sense but it does make miracles.

#4 Test our loyalty

No matter what takes place, we must stay loyal to God.

If they can’t stay loyal to God, how will they stay loyal to you?

5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:1-5)

Tribulation takes place… to produce an outcome that grows our walk with the Lord.

#5 Test our patience

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

Patience is a fruit of the Spirit.

Patience is also long suffering. When you suffer long, it shows your patience.
