he more we study truth the more we are sanctified and the renewing of the mind takes place.
"And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)
Renewing of the mind through the Word of God affects our everyday decisions, our spiritual growth, and especially building the right relationships.
"Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” (1 Corinthians 15:33)
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20)
Being surrounded by other spirit-filled believers is key to growing in our relationship with Jesus.
We need to be around spirit-filled believers who are on fire for the Lord.
It keeps us accountable in our personal walk on the path of righteousness.
Part of the renewing of the mind process is being open to seeing things from God's perspective through how God uses other people.
We need to be submitted & sensitive to the Holy Spirit so we can stand strong in our faith in Jesus.
3 Reminders About Environments that effect our relationships
#1 Environments influence our thinking.
#2 Environments hinder our growth or help our growth.
#3 Environments dictate our spiritual appetites.
12 Then His disciples came and said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees were offended when they heard this saying?” 13 But He answered and said, “Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted. 14 Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” (Matthew 15:12-14)
Jesus is explaining to His disciples several times in scripture to not intertwine with the pharisees & their thinking.
These are people who proclaimed to 'know God' yet they denied God in the flesh (Jesus).
There are layers to understanding environments & relationships.
There are people who know of God & there are true believers who know God
Understanding that not every person who says they believe in God may not be someone that is meant to be in your life.
We all serve the same Lord but different assignments.
We all NEED Jesus & community that serves Jesus.
Also, there is a need to know where the Lord wants to place us in this season.
Want to make sure that you're in the right community? Ask the Holy Spirit & surrender to God daily.
Seek the Lord in prayer. (Jeremiah 29:12-13)
Fast that pleases God. (Isaiah 58)
Surrender everyday. (John 3:30) (Matthew 16)
You may not feel like you've found the right community this season... it is well.
Trust God through it all.
