Heavenly Wisdom vs. Demonic Wisdom

Heavenly wisdom vs. Demonic Wisdom

The book of James shares the difference between these two.

Proverbs is known as the book of wisdom in the old testament.

James is the new testament book on wisdom.

In Corinthians it shares how the wisdom of this age does not compare to the wisdom of God.

The wisdom we speak as believers does not compare to the wisdom of this age.

6 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Corinthians 2:6-9)

& this wisdom can only be revealed by the Holy Spirit.

The natural man cannot discern the things of the spirit, nor can they receive it.

Because these things from God can only be spiritually discerned.

We need the Holy Spirit who teaches us these kingdom principles.

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. 13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 15 But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. 16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.    (1 Corinthians 2:10-16)

3 Ways to know if it's demonic wisdom.

Bitter envy

Self seeking in the heart

Confusion

This is how to discern demonic wisdom

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. 15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. (James 3:13-16)

Heavenly wisdom that is from above..

Pure

Peaceable

Gentle

Willing to yield

Full of mercy and good fruits

Without partiality

Without hypocrisy

17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. 18 Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. (James 3:13-18)

How do we begin this journey of obtaining heavenly wisdom?

It starts with the fear of the Lord.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)
