How To Deal With Disappointment According To The Bible

We might be dealing with disappointment & not know it.

It's very sneaky.

How do we overcome disappointment?

Hope.

Hope in the Lord.

By not having our expectations from anyone else BUT God.
We might expect others to show us love or do things in a certain way.

Whether it's friendships, marriages, business partnerships... our expectations can't be in others.

5 My soul, wait silently for God alone,
For my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense;
I shall not be moved.
7 In God is my salvation and my glory;
The rock of my strength,
And my refuge, is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah (Psalm 62:5-8)

So how do we cancel out that disappointment?

Hope.

Here are a few bible verses to help us and encourage us to have our hope in Jesus alone.

7 “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is the Lord. (Jeremiah 17:7)

Trust & hope allows us to be blessed.|

13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1 Peter 1:13)
We must gird up the loins of our mind & stay sober minded with a right mind... this allows us to rest our hope in Jesus.
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Romans 5:1-5)
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

Our faith in Christ through faith gives us access to God.

& our tribulation produces HOPE!
Tribulation to perseverance, perseverance to character, & character to hope.

& hope does NOT disappoint.

When we have hope in Christ, it does not disappoint.
Praise the Lord!
