Do you think you're under spiritual attacks?
Habitual sins is a sign you may be under spiritual attacks.
Let's first talk about the 3 main forms of temptations the enemy uses.
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever. (1 John 2:15-16)
The lust of the flesh.
The lust of the eyes.
The pride of life.
Remember we cannot blame the devil for EVERYTHING!
You can't blame your sins on demons when it was YOUR CHOICE.
You can cast out demons, but you can't cast out the flesh.
#1 The lust of the flesh
3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” 4 But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:3-4)
How to fight against it?
The Word of God.
The word of God will BREAK the cravings of the flesh.
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.Psalm 119:11
Keep Gods word in your heart, & fight against sin & the lust of the flesh.
#2 The lust of the eyes
5 Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.’ ” 7 Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’ ” (Matthew 4:5-7)
Worship will help you overcome the lust of the eyes.
24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” (John 4:24)
When you look at things with the eyes it INTENSIFIES.
When JESUS CONSUMES YOUR DESIRES, you don't desire anything else
WHEN YOU SEE THE GLORY OF GOD. You don’t want antyhing else.
When I’m full of His presence i have no desire for anything else.
To worship God is to acknowledge Him for His holiness.
#3 Pride of life
8 Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ” (Matthew 4:8-10)
In order to combat against pride, we must submit to God.
Submit to God's will on our life.
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud,But gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6)
