How To Receive The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit

How To Receive The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit?

Now there are a few simple qualifications to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit...

What are the qualifications of baptism?

#1 Repent.

#2 Accept Jesus as personal Lord & Savior.

#3 Believe in Him

We find these qualifications through several scriptures throughout the bible.

Let's go through the lens as Peter is filled & baptized with the Holy Spirit in Acts 2.

38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38-39)

Now what are the ways to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit?

Two ways:

#1 From Heaven

1 When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:1-4)

We see that the Spirit Of God filled the whole house & they were all FILLED with the Holy Spirit.

We can receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, directly from heaven.

#2 Laying of Hands

19 And it happened, while Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And finding some disciples 2 he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”

So they said to him, “We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit.”
3 And he said to them, “Into what then were you baptized?”

So they said, “Into John’s baptism.”

4 Then Paul said, “John indeed baptized with a baptism of repentance, saying to the people that they should believe on Him who would come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.”
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. 7 Now the men were about twelve in all.

We see that, the disciples in Ephesus got baptized into John's baptism, but did not know about the Holy Spirit.

Could it be there are some believers that got baptized with water but not with the Holy Spirit?
Pray & seek the Lord for His truth & revelations around this.
God bless you

In Jesus might name!
