In life there will be challenges and trials. The enemy will try and use those to break us, but thankfully the Lord is there to help us. The enemy wants to hurt and hinder us, but God is there to lift us up. The Word of God shows us different ways to silence the devil and get victory. We are called to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7).
Here are 3 ways to fight back and silence the devil. (Watch the video version here)
1. We need to pray
As shown in Ephesians 6:12, our battle is not a physical battle, but a spiritual battle. The Word says that an effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16), and we have been given authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Prayer is a powerful way to take our authority in the spiritual realm and win the battle.
2. We need to praise
Praise God! Praise Jesus! Let everything that has breath praise to the Lord! When you praise God things start to shift in the spiritual realm. God works all things out for good to those who love Him. We can praise God through the trial because we know He is a God who goes before us and fights our battles. The Lord will fight for you if you hold your peace (Exodus 14:14).
3. Proclaim God's Word
The Bible says that life and death are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). We need to proclaim God's Word because the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit (Hebrews 4:12). Here are some verses for you to proclaim over your life.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn
Psalm 118:17
I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD
Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me
Ephesians 3:20
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.
Continue to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you. For whoever the Son sets free is free indeed (John 8:36). You can watch the video version of this teaching Here.
