What is the Great commission?
It’s called the great commission NOT the great suggestion.
The mission of the great commission is to make disciples!
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:18-20)
It’s not an easy mission but a mission that brings REAL fulfillment & we can’t do this alone, we NEED the power of the Holy Spirit in these last days.
We must get filled up with the word of God & the gospel that when life or circumstances squeeze you… the only thing that comes out is gospel!
Jesus is talking in this verse about the victorious church, the bride of Christ, and how they overcame the enemy.
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Revelation 12:11)
The blood of the Lamb.
The word of our testimony.
AND not loving our own lives.
The last part of that verse is where people leave off... "and they did not love their lives to the death".
If you're not sharing your faith & not testifying about Jesus, you're still holding on to your life.
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 16:25)
You must love God more than you love your own life & this world.
Process...
Just like David. He got anointed as king in one season but it took over a decade for him to finally be sitting on the throne as king.
Process.
What do we do when we have an ability as king in the palace but a responsibility in this season as shepherd in the pasture?
Patience.
12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (Hebrews 6:12)
We must be patience and enjoy the process the Lord is taking us through.
People want to be trusted with stages & stadiums but can't be trusted with the streets.
People want to reach the nations but can't share the gospel to their neighbor.
People want to be trusted with the platforms but they can't pastor or disciple one person.
It's okay to desire to reach for more territory but it's not okay when it's out of God's timing & will!
Let Him mold you.
Ministry will either mold you or fold you.

How to overcome each?
Pride ⇒ Serve
Serve when it's inconvenient or uncomfortable.
28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28)
To minister means to serve.
Greed ⇒ Give
Be a cheerful giver.
6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
Lust ⇒ Fasting
Fasting kills the flesh.
Fasting will kill lust.
Fasting will afflict the soul.
5 Is it a fast that I have chosen, A day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head like a bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth and ashes? Would you call this a fast, And an acceptable day to the Lord? 6 “Is this not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free, And that you break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:5-6)
