An altar is a platform where the spiritual realm connects to the physical realm.
Altars are where covenants are activated.
We must be mindful of what altars we are building everyday.
Noah built an altar for the Lord.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
22 “While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:20-22)
Let's continue to build altars daily that lift up the name of Jesus & glorify His name!
How to build altars for the Lord?
#1 Living Sacrifice
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)
We must offer our bodies to be able to serve Him.
Jesus came not to be served, but to serve.
Jesus was the perfect sacrifice.
& He didn't just die so we can live, but so we can live life abundantly!
#2 Sacrifice of Praise & Worship
15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. (Hebrews 13:15)
There's so much power in praise & worship to God.
As we praise God, the atmosphere in the spiritual realm starts to shift.
We continue to give Him thanks & allow the praise to be the fruit of our lips.
#3 Sacrifice of Prayer
2 Let my prayer be set before You as incense,
The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice. (Psalm 141:2)
When you're prayer-less you are powerless.
There is power in prayer.
Prayer allows us to have the authority to speak life into atmospheres & to shift the place as we open up our mouths' as believers.
Prayer is the oxygen to the believer.
Our ability to pray to the Lord activates these altars in the spiritual realm.
Here is another example in the word of God where another person, Abram, built an altar for God.
7 Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “To your descendants I will give this land.” And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him. 8 And he moved from there to the mountain east of Bethel, and he pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; there he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord. 9 So Abram journeyed, going on still toward the South. (Genesis 12:7-9)
We hope you continue to build altars for the Lord daily in your life.
Seek Him above all.
In Jesus MIGHTY NAME!
God bless you!
