Comforting Bible verses for Peace in the Midst of Crisis

No matter what season you are in, you may always find the Peace and the love of Christ in His Word. Believe and trust that there is a greater purpose for what the Lord has in every season, that you may be able to grow and lean closer to Him. God’s ways and thoughts will always be greater and higher than ours, that surrendering and putting our faith in Jesus enables us to have a deeper relationship with Him. Here are powerful verses to meditate on and strengthen your relationship with Jesus in times of crisis.

Psalm 46:1–3

“God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.”

Hebrews 12:1–2

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

To have Peace in Christ, is to set our mind on things above and to focus on Jesus. He said in His word, in the world there may be tribulation, but we should be of good cheer, because He has already overcome the world. (John 16:33)

Daniel 10:12

“Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.””

The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective. As we humble ourselves through praying and seeking God’s counsel we may be able to hear more from Him by the power of the Holy Spirit. As He said in His word, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” (Matthew 5:8) To have a pure heart and a grateful heart is to see the goodness and faithfulness of God all the days of your life.

Colossians 3:1–4

“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.”

Philippians 4:8

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.”

The Peace that Jesus brings through us surpasses all understanding because He is our Prince of Peace. The moment we commit our lives to Christ, it is no longer our life but it is Jesus working in us and through us to be used for His glory. There is a time and purpose for everything under heaven, that in every season Jesus Christ will always be the same yesterday, today, and forever. Amen. (Ecclesiates 3:1, Hebrews 13:8)

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for You are my Prince of Peace. Lord, You are my comforter and counselor in all things. You have said in Your Word, that You will never leave us nor forsake us. That You are our refuge and strength and a very present help in times of our troubles. Thank you Lord, for teaching us to focus on You and Your word and be led by Your Holy Spirit. Fill our mind and thoughts with Your thoughts of peace, joy, love and sound mind. I plead the blood of Jesus upon the Body of Christ and seal us with Your Holy Spirit of promise. We surrender and put our faith in You Jesus. We give You all the glory and honor. We love You, Lord. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
