What is a stronghold?
A castle, stronghold, fortress, fastness...
In other words... it's arguments or reasonings...
These are thoughts, opinions, or patterns that may be against God's truth.
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
The enemy wants us to fight flesh with flesh.
If we fight against the flesh with flesh, we may lose.
We are called to fight in the spiritual realm to come against strongholds.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. (2 Corinthians 10:3-6)
We have the authority & the ability to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of God.
Then we are called to 'punish' disobedience. We must take action to fight against the thoughts that are not of the Lord.
If you've discerned you may be struggling with evil thoughts or thoughts that seem good but not God... let's show you how to fight against this in the spiritual realm.
#1 Word of God
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)
God's word can transform our mind.
We need a transformation to discern to know that good, acceptable & perfect will of God.
His word becomes the light inside of our thoughts to expose any darkness.
God's word is the sword of the spirit.
His word helps us break strongholds that we can discern are coming.
#2 Prayer
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints— 19 and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak. (Ephesians 6:17-20)
If you are prayerless you are powerless.
Prayer is another way for us to break strongholds.
Ephesians 6 shares the power of praying in the spirit.
We must pray, Father not my will, but thy will.
#3 In Jesus' name
There is POWER in the MIGHTY name of Jesus!
He is the name above all names.
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:17-18)
Jesus has all the power.
Make sure you include Him when breaking strongholds.
God bless you!
