Spiritual warfare is the lie vs. the truth.
Deception is the fruit.
Lie is the seed.
Deception starts with a lie.
We must discern the lie that we believe.
The only way to overcome the lie is the TRUTH.
People walk in deception because they believe in the lie.
The enemy is the deceiver of this whole world.
The worst thing about someone being deceived is they don't know they are deceived.
4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. (2 Corinthians 4:4)
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for bthem in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:7-9)
The word deceive means:
to cause to stray, to lead astray, lead aside from the right way
to lead away from the truth, to lead into error, to deceive.
4 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, (1 Timothy 4:1-2)
It is a deceiving spirit.
It's also a doctrine of demons.
We must continue to fight back with God's word!
10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. (Revelation 12:10-11)
How to overcome this deceiving spirit?
The blood of the Lamb.
The word of our testimony.
Not loving our life more than God.
#1 The blood of Jesus
The blood of Jesus redeems our hands from Satan (Ephesians 1:7)
The blood of Jesus forgives our sins (Ephesians 1:7)
The blood of Jesus cleanses our sins (1 John 1:7)
The blood of Jesus sanctifies us to be holy & set apart for God (Hebrews 10:10)
#2 The word of our testimony
Our story, His glory.
Our encounters with God are something no man can take away.
When you have a REAL encounter with the living God, you'll never be the same again.
In His presence there is freedom
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
#3 Not loving our life to the death
Do you love God more than you love this world?
Do you love God more than you love your bank account?
Do you love God more than you love your marriage?
We are called to love God FIRST!
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ (Matthew 22:37)
25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. (Matthew 16:25)
