How To Find God's Favor | Noah's Favor

Favor is uncommon, unexplainable, unusual, unearned access.

8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. (Genesis 6:8) NKJV

9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9) NKJV

8 But Noah found favor with the Lord. (Genesis 6:8) NLT

Noah was a just man.

The bible tells us the just shall walk by faith.

Noah built the ark, not just because He was right with God... but because the favor of God was on his life!

Would he have built the ark that kept his family safe from this flood without God's grace & favor?

There are some things we won't be able to accomplish without God & His grace!

This is why we hear sayings "Only by the grace of God!"

Who else had favor?

17 The king loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen instead of Vashti. (Esther 2:17)

26 And the child Samuel grew in stature, and in favor both with the Lord and men. (1 Samuel 2:26)

52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. (Luke 2:52)

Favor is NOT always EVERYONE liking you… but the right people liking you.

The people who will give you access & unusual promotions is how favor positions you.

Remember you can’t earn favor, but you can position yourself to access it!

How to find favor?

#1 Be humble

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Humility is being a person who God can trust.

Humility is not thinking of yourself less, it’s thinking less of yourself.

God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

#2 Be helpful

1 God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

God has assigned people in our life & in the season we are in… to help.

We serve God, but the Lord may appoint us to serve others.

Ministry is to be a servant.

We are called to be ‘living sacrifices’. (Romans 12:1)

#3 Be holy

To be holy isn’t perfection, it’s to be set apart.

13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:13-16)

We’re called to make ‘set apart’ decisions.

To make decisions that set us apart from culture.

We are called to not be conformed to the world.

Not be influenced by the patterns of this world.

Set our minds on the things above!

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8)
