When you are intimate with someone, you KNOW THEM!
First you have to know that God knows you!
1 O Lord, You have searched me and known me. 2 You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. 3 You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. 4 For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. 5 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. (Psalm 139:1-6)
10 “You are My witnesses,” says the Lord, “And My servant whom I have chosen, That you may know and believe Me, And understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me. (Isaiah 43:10)
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29)
As we continue this journey to stay intimate with the Lord, He continues to reveal the secret things.
Remember, the secret things belong to the Lord, but we have the ability to obtain the mysteries of heaven.
29 “The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. (Deuteronomy 29:29)
Here are a few ways to get intimate with God daily!
#1 Surrender
12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
30 He must increase, but I must decrease. (John 3:30)
We must surrender our ways to the Lord.
Surrender our thoughts, plans, desires & anything we may put above Him.
When we make decisions, He must go before us.
#2 Trust
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
It's not always easy to trust God when situations don't make sense.
If we can trust His promises over our current situation, it's always well worth it.
Our Father knows what's best for us.
Trust Him through it all.
#3 Prayer
35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed. (Mark 1:35)
Jesus was the perfect example of what it's like to spend time in a quiet place with no distractions.
Prayer is our form of conversation to the Lord.
Spend time with God in prayer & watch your life shift.
#4 Study His word
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. (2 Timothy 2:15)
God's will is found in God's word.
We are called to test everything we hear with scripture, to rightly divide the word of truth.
Make sure what you hear aligns with the word of God.
We must meditate on His word day & night.
Every day!
Praying you'll be able to have a deeper intimate relationship with God.
& your walk with the Lord continues to grow!
In Jesus name!
