“Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8
purifying (G) - to make clean, to cleanse
When you are pure, you are free from corrupt desires.
Jeremiah 17 says our hearts are desperately wicked.
Ezekiel 36 God wants to give us a new heart.
Proverbs 4:23 says we must guard our heart
Matthew 12:34 says out of the abundance of our heart, the mouth speaks.
What we speak publicly may reveal what is hidden in our heart.
#1 God’s Word.
3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. (John 15:3)
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. (John 17:17)
5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (Proverbs 30:5)
There is something powerful that God’s word does to us… it is an incorruptible seed.
& seeds grow that eventually bear fruit.
God’s word sanctifies us, it separates us from good and evil.
We must meditate on His word day and night (Psalm 1)
#2 Faith
“and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.”
Acts 15:9
You cannot have faith and fear at the same time!
Faith cancels the weapons of the enemy in a form of sending anxiety, doubt, fear, overthinking… & and so much more.
Walk by faith.
Those that can see the invisible can do the impossible
How do I increase my faith?
Hearing Gods word (Romans 10:17)
#3 Obedience
Obedience is our form of worship to God.
Obedience is greater than sacrifice.
Obedience is being patient with where God wants us to be and to follow through.
If the Lord says be there, & you’re there… but now the Lord says pray for that person, we must obey.
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart. (1 Peter 1:22)
We must obey the truth.
