How To Know It’s A Delay From God?
Joseph went through a divine process…
Pit to Potiphar’s to prison to palace… & being in charge of the nation of Egypt’s resources.
Throughout all scripture the Lord was with Joseph. Even being a slave!
God took Joseph through this process and he was able to land a promotion.
Operating in his prophetic gifting in prison being able to interpret the butler & baker’s dream.
Because of him using his prophetic God given gifts… it landed him in front of Pharaoh, who later acknowledged Joseph’s God as God.
38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?” (Genesis 41:38)
In the end of the story of Joseph he proclaims God uses what the enemy meant for evil..
20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. (Genesis 50:20)
Why do we experience delays?
Ignorance
Ignorance is our inability to have the right information before making a wise decision.
We might not be getting in God’s word & pulling His wisdom in our current situation.
Foolishness
There is such thing as foolish wisdom…
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. (Proverbs 1:7)
Foolishness is our ability to acknowledge instruction, but not practice it.
Wisdom is having discretion, the least amount of consequences from an action.
Curses
They hinder us and hurt us.
In Deuteronomy 28… there are more curses than blessings.
We can break curses in Jesus' name, but we must first recognize what curses are operating.
We have to reverse the curse.
Protection
3 ways God answers prayers… yes, no & wait I got something better.
That wasn’t rejection, that was God’s protection.
What if the delay or the door closing is protection from God.
We must trust the Lord has something better for us… because His plan is always greater.
How to overcome delays?
#1 Love God
#2 Seek Him with all your heart
#3 Know your identity in Christ
These 3 can be developed with our walk with God.
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ (Matthew 22:37)
12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:12-13)
20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)
