God's will is greater than our will.
If you want to make any year of your life the best year of your life, give it to God.
& that's a promise.
Some years you might be getting refined, which is sometimes a way for God to prepare us.
The safest place to be is in the will of God.
The most dangerous place to be is in the will of you.
4 types of wills:
Sovereign will - God's in control
Preferred will - God has a preference.
Permissible will - God allows (free will)
Personal will - Grace'd, gifted, passionate, paid.
Now, God's will is found in God's word.
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2)
Renew your mind.
Sometimes it's not something 'new' we should learn, but maybe something we need to unlearn.
That's also renewing your mind.
Beseech - 1. to call to one's side, call for, summon.
Conform - 1. to conform one's self (i.e. one's mind and character) to another's pattern, (fashion one's self according to)
Transform - to change into another form, to transform, to transfigure
May the Lord continue to renew your patterns of thinking so that you may truly change!
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)
