How To Know You're Growing In Christ?

There are patterns in how God speaks.

Discerning patterns in our lives is how we also discern God's voice in our lives.

When you study scripture there is a pattern with how God moves, His characteristics, and His nature!

We must be willing to transform our minds & patterns that have tried to influence us toward ungodly thinking.

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)

This teaching shows us a formula in Romans 12:1.

Beseech - 1. to call to one's side, call for, summon.

This call has a special effect on the person's life who decides to take the call!

We are called to do these 3 things:

#1 Present our bodies as a living sacrifice.

We're called to surrender EVERYTHING to God. It all belongs to Him.

#2 Holy.

We are called to be 'set apart'. To make set apart decisions. This is being Holy according to God's ways.

#3 Acceptable to God.

What would Jesus do? Does God accept this? & if I mess up, if I'm willing to repent, the Lord is faithful to always forgive & love me even in my mistakes.

Which sums up to be our reasonable service to God.

This leads to a reasonable service!

We are called to serve and the title we carry in the kingdom is servant.

2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Renew your mind.

Sometimes it's not something 'new' we should learn, but maybe something we need to unlearn.

That's also renewing your mind.

Conform - 1. to conform one's self (i.e. one's mind and character) to another's pattern, (fashion one's self according to)

Transform - to change into another form, to transform, to transfigure

May the Lord continue to renew your patterns of thinking so that you may truly change!
