We don't want to be POPULAR, we want to be PURE before the Lord.
When you are pure, you are FREE from corrupt desires.
Purity is not perfection, it's being set apart & making set apart decisions.
Set apart from the world, culture, selfish desires, darkness, confusion, evil....
Set apart from the things of this world so you can be used for God's glory.
There is POWER in PURITY as a believer & follower of Jesus Christ.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God. (Matthew 5:8)
#1 Purity starts with repentance.
A heart of repentance ignites a heart of revival.
Purity starts with the heart, & TRUE repentance towards God can change that in any moment.
The Lord wants ALL our heart when we SEEK Him!
13 And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13)
14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. (2 Chronicles 7:14-16)
#2 God's word purifies.
6 The words of the Lord are pure words, Like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times. (Psalm 12:6)
5 Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. (Proverbs 30:65)
The Lord wants us to be made pure & there is nothing like the living word of God that purifies our soul.
God's word purifies our heart & mind.
When you receive the word of God, you receive instructions that have been God given over your life.
A Holy Nation & a Chosen generation!
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (1 Peter 2:9)
#3 Our faith in Christ purifies us.
8 So God, who knows the heart, acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us, 9 and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. (Acts 15:8-9)"
Without faith it's impossible to please God.
& it should be no surprise that our foundation should TRULY be in Jesus!
Faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God.
#4 Obedience in God purifies our soul.
22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, (1 Peter 1:22)
