Is this wilderness season?
& what is a wilderness season?
First, let’s talk about the 3 different seasons most talk about when it comes to the bible..
Egypt is bondage.
Bondage means to be a slave to something.
You can be a slave to fear, anxiety, anger… & so much more the enemy tries to use to hinder us from moving forward.
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to [a]heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; (Isaiah 61:1)
Wilderness is a transition season.
A place where God will truly test us.
Wilderness is to deliver you from you.
2 And you shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. (Deuteronomy 8:2)
Wilderness is a place that will humble you, test you & know what is in your heart.
Promise land… God’s promise.
A land that God promised His children that will provide the resources to be able to sustain them & to live.
A land flowing with milk and honey.
Even when they get to promise land, there is still battles against the enemy & giants.
and I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.” (Exodus 3:17)
27 Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. (Numbers 13:27)
My finances might be in promise land but my marriage is in the wilderness.
My marriage might be in Egypt & my finances are in promise land.
There are parts of our life that are not surrendered to the Holy Spirit.
As the children of Israel are leaving Egypt and transitioning to promise land… their language of bondage carried into wilderness which hindered to get into promise land.
12 Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.” (Exodus 14:12)
As they were set free from Egypt… fear allowed them to want to go back…
We need to stop running back to the very thing that God set us free from.
Egypt.
Wilderness.
Promise land.
