How To Break Principalities

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12)

We understand that we do not wrestle against flesh & blood…but principalities, powers, against rulers of darkness, & against spiritual wickedness.

What does principalities mean in Greek?

1. beginning, origin
2. the person or thing that commences, the first person or thing in a series, the leader
3. that by which anything begins to be, the origin, the active cause
4. the extremity of a thing of the corners of a sail
5. the first place, principality, rule, magistracy of angels and demons
6. It is an origin. There is always a start to something.

We’ll be talking about how to break these & how they even start.
3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” 4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:3-4)

We see from this text how the daughters of men bore children with the giants in those days.

Then in the next chapter we see how the Lord sends a flood on the earth & Noah built the ark.
The Lord said He will destroy the earth by using a flood.
13 And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth. (Genesis 6:13)
How did evil continue until this day?
Through the families bloodline.

20 And Abraham journeyed from there to the South, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur, and stayed in Gerar. 2 Now Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, “Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is [a]a man’s wife.” (Genesis 20:1-3)

In Genesis 20 we see how Abraham lied to king Abimelech on how Sarah was his sister but indeed we understand that she is Abraham’s wife.
Abraham begot Isaac & Isaac begot Jacob.
Later in Genesis 27.

We see how Jacob lied to his father Isaac to think that Jacob was actually Esau.

(Genesis 27:22-27)

Now we see how the lie is transferred through the generations.

How do we break these generational principalities?

Two ways.

#1 We need His blood in our bloodline

13 And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, 14 having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. 15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)

#2 Fasting

Fasting shows us what has a grip on us.

Mark 9:14-29

All this can be broke in Jesus name!

Thank you Lord.
